Privacy Policy

Your data is yours. This policy explains, in plain language, what Clarify collects, why, and how you stay in control.

Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. Who we are

Clarify ("we", "us") provides the Clarify mobile app and this website. We are the data controller for personal data processed through them. Contact us at privacy@clarify.care.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: email address, name and sign-in information.
  • Profile details you choose to give: such as age range, height, weight and goals.
  • Wellness data: meals, workouts, sleep and check-ins you log, and data you allow us to read from connected sources (such as Apple Health, Health Connect, Google Pixel Watch, Garmin, Xiaomi, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Oura).
  • Subscription status: whether you have an active plan. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
  • Technical data: device type, app version, crash reports and basic usage events, used to keep the app working.

3. Health data

Wellness and health data is a special category of data. We only process it with your explicit consent, which you give when you connect a source or log an entry. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.

  • Data from Apple HealthKit and Health Connect is used only to provide features inside Clarify.
  • We never sell health data, never use it for advertising, and never share it with data brokers.
  • We do not use your health data to train general-purpose models for third parties.

4. Why we use your data (legal bases)

  • To provide the app (contract): showing your day, insights and suggestions.
  • Health data (explicit consent).
  • To keep the service safe and improve it (legitimate interests): fixing bugs, preventing abuse.
  • To meet legal duties (legal obligation): such as tax and accounting records.

5. Who we share data with

We use a small number of trusted service providers (processors) for hosting, sign-in, crash reporting and generating insights. They act only on our instructions, under written data-processing agreements. We may also share data if required by law. We never sell personal data.

6. International transfers

Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep certain records longer.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can:

  • access a copy of your data, and receive it in a portable format;
  • correct or delete your data;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
  • complain to your local data protection authority (in Portugal, the CNPD).

You can delete your account directly in the app under Account → Delete account, or email privacy@clarify.care. We reply within 30 days.

9. Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and regular reviews. Much of your data is stored on your phone first.

10. Children

Clarify is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
